Connect WiiU to non-HD TV

Hello everyone, as you know, the holidays are fast approaching. For Christmas, I would like to get a WiiU because it has some interesting games like Splatoon, Mario Maker...
But that's where my problem arises, I don't have an HD TV, meaning a TV with an HDMI cable. I know that the WiiU comes with an HDMI cable, and so if you can't connect it to your TV, then there's no point in buying a WiiU because you won't be able to play it. For those who want to know, I have an old CRT TV, but the quality is quite good.
So here's my question: Is it possible to connect a WiiU to a non-HD TV? If it is possible, how should I do it? What cable should I use and how do I connect them?

    Hello,
    You can use the cables from a Wii (not the Wii U), there is a port for Wii cables on your Wii U.
    This way, you can connect it either via SCART or RCA (the white, red, and yellow connectors).
