Hello,
I will soon be ordering a new laptop (equipped with USB3) but it does not have a CD/DVD drive, etc...
I would like to know the differences between internal and external drives (mainly regarding speed).
I plan to use CDs for games (DVD-ROM), movies, music, and possibly Blu-Ray, but no burner.
Could you let me know if there is a significant difference between an external or internal drive?

Hello!
A 24X internal or external is a 24X, so there is no difference between internal and external. What may differ slightly is whether the DVD drive is connected to the PC via a USB 2 or 3 cable.

An external reader or writer, an external hard drive connects to the computer via USB, you can take them from one computer to another on your own, the difference between these drives is assessed according to their speed!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

To my knowledge, there is no difference except for a matter of size and convenience. Additionally, if you need to move around with your laptop and need your DVD drive, you'll have to take it with you as well. Otherwise, concerning the performance of one or the other, to my knowledge, there is none.
In your case, if you often need to use CDs/DVDs for playing, I would choose a PC with an integrated drive for practical reasons.
