Add contacts to the SIM card?

Hello,
I recently bought a Huawei P8. Today I wanted to save a new contact to my SIM card, but I found out that it's not possible. I can only view the contacts on the SIM card, but I can only add new contacts to the phone's memory or to one of my email accounts.
Can someone help me? Is this normal? Should I return the smartphone?
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 46.0.2490.80

Hello,
Normally, you can save a new contact to the SIM card. New contact > Tap the small down arrow next to "Phone contact" > Choose SIM.
Otherwise, you can save the new contact on the phone and then export it to the SIM card. This operation does not delete it from the phone; the contact will be visible on the SIM card and on the phone. Menu > Import/Export > Export to SIM.
