Hello,
I have a SONY HCD-RG490 Hi-Fi system since 2007.
Everything was working fine, but now whenever I try to play a CD, it shows MECHA ERROR?
What does this mean?
Can I get some help, please?

I found this:
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot if the device is not responding correctly or displays a MECHA error or mechanical error.
Remove all CDs or tapes from the unit.
Turn off the device.
Unplug the power cord for 15 seconds.
Make sure the recommended speakers are properly connected and the cables are not short-circuited.
Ensure that the unit has adequate ventilation.
NOTE: If the device has a voltage selector, ensure the appropriate voltage is selected.
Plug in the power cord.
Press and hold the STOP, DISPLAY, and DISC 1 buttons, then turn on the device.
Try to operate the unit
Do like me but do not imitate me.
