Can you plug two cables into an RJ45 socket?

Hello,  I wanted to know if it was possible to bring two Ethernet cables to the same RJ45 socket. Let me explain a bit better. One of the cables would come to the socket from the floor below directly from the box, and the other cable would go to another RJ45 socket on the same floor to distribute internet there.  Thank you in advance for your responses.  Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 45.0.2454.101

Hello  RJ45=8 wires=4 pairs You only need 2 pairs for an internet connection There are pair separators, a kind of power strip with 2xRJ45 outputs going to 2 different pairs from the original cable  So with just one cable you can make 2 connections by placing a separator at each end

Hi, No, never. 2 cables == 2 outlets. Always. However, 1 cable, 2 outlets, or even 4 for telephony, is feasible, although it should be avoided; this is the case with the outlet splitter mentioned by Hombourgeois. If you want to add 1 ethernet outlet on the same floor, you need to add a switch and an outlet for the cable to the second outlet. PS, when I write 2 cables == 2 outlets, actually it’s 4 (you need one on each end) :-)  and ... There you go!
