Hello,
I live alone in an apartment, and I would like to avoid buying a box and thus paying a subscription. Will I be able to connect to the internet all the time with a Wi-Fi key?
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 45.0.2454.85

If by Wi-Fi key you mean a "USB Wi-Fi adapter," which looks like a USB stick, then no, it is useless because it only allows you to access Wi-Fi if your computer does not have a built-in Wi-Fi antenna.
There is no miracle solution; if you want the internet, you have to pay.
You can also share your connection from a phone if you have a phone plan with enough data and your plan allows tethering. But this is not a solution, and if you exceed your plan, you will pay a high price.
