Hello everyone!
Currently using Windows 7 Professional, I'm facing a problem that I didn't have before; I can't launch FF. When I click on the tab, a window with an error message appears: "Failed to read the configuration file. Please contact your system administrator."
This problem occurred after a major cleanup with an antivirus (Bitdefender), anti-malware (Malwarebytes), and AdwCleaner, as I had caught quite a few malwares.
Since this cleanup, I can't access FF, despite uninstalling and reinstalling the browser.
Note that the version of Firefox downloaded is 40.0.3.
Do you have any leads, or even a solution please?

Hello ;
Download this utility called Revo Uninstaller available here:
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/19405-revo-uninstaller/
Run it as an administrator, right-click on the Firefox icon => uninstall => advanced mode, let the integrated uninstaller run and accept the uninstallation this way. Then click on scan on Revo after the uninstallation, select and delete everything it finds.
Download and install, if you haven't already, CCleaner here:
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/5647-ccleaner/
Don't forget to uncheck the Google modules it will offer you during the installation.
Run CCleaner and go to the registry tab => find errors => fix all selected errors without creating a backup, run it once again and re-fix if needed...
Go back to your downloads and reinstall Firefox.
Keep us updated...
