Is deleting a message without reading it considered as having seen it?

Hello,

I sent a message to an old friend a month ago, but the message remains sent (see image) yet I think he has Messenger since he has the logo under his photo. Is it still possible for it to go to other? And if not, does it remain "sent" because he deleted the message without reading it? In that case, if he deletes it without reading it, it's as if he never received it? So for me, it would still show as "sent"? It won't show as read?

Thanks for your answers

    Hello

Were you friends when you sent the message?

Hey, no we're not friends on fb, but when we have Messenger, the messages don't go into "other," right?

if of course... if you're not friends, everything goes somewhere else...

Let's just hope he checks his messages on the computer one day... Thanks for your help.

P.S.: if he ends up deleting it without reading it, what would that mean for me?

        nothing...

there is no indication that the message or the conversation has been deleted...
