Hello,

There is an update on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 that just started. The problem is that I don't know what it is about. When I click on the download for the update, I see that it's 800 MB for this update.
I would like to know what type of update this is. Is it a new version of Android? What new things does this update bring?
If anyone has answers for me, thank you.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9.0

    hello

if you had been paying attention, you should have seen software or firmware update, so at 800MB it is probably a version change of Android... for example from Android 4.4, called KitKat, to version 5, called Lollipop.... that's it for the rest, you'll see the new features for yourself or do your own research on the net... and one piece of advice, make sure your tablet is well charged beforehand... and next time, provide the exact reference of your Tab 4 since there are several models...
    like SM-T530 or others

    Hello;

it's the SM-T535 model. My update keeps getting interrupted because my bandwidth is quite slow.

I read comments at this link https://www.phonandroid.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-4-mise-a-jour-android-lollipop.html

Many people are complaining about this update. Isn't it a risk for me?

Indeed, Lollipop 5.0.2 is causing problems on many devices regardless of brand and model, so if you don't want it, don't download or install it... it's up to you... if you want to bypass it instead using the Kies3 or SmartSwitch software...

What is the required free space to plan for this update? Is it better to go through Kies3 or Smart Switch?

no real idea about the actual space, but since it will replace Android 4.4, there shouldn't be any issues...
try first with Kies3..... but if I were you, I would back up your data first just to be safe....

    Hi,

The space needs to be 3 GB free, but I only have 2 GB. I need to clean up. The update has already downloaded and is asking me to install it. What’s the difference if I install it from my tablet or through KIES?

On my tablet, the update is 811.12 MB and on Kies it's 1178 MB. Why is there this difference?

install the ones you have with Kies....sometimes the firmware may be incomplete or poorly downloaded via Wi-Fi...so you use Kies....and make sure that your tab is fully charged and don't dare to stop the process halfway because it's long and you let your tab restart by itself..

Ok. Since the manual download is already ready to be installed, how do we remove it? If I download it via Kies, will it overwrite the one that has already been downloaded?

    Hi,
I finally updated to Lollipop with Kies. It went well and for now it’s working normally. Thanks for your help.
