"mu" symbol for micrometers

Hello,

I work in Word for Mac 2011, on Mac OS X (10.10.3).
I want to write micrometer in abbreviation, so I need the "mu" character.
I found the character viewer on the Mac, but there is no "mu" in the math symbols.

Does anyone know how to obtain this character?

Hello,

Does it not work with pressing both the alt and m keys?

It works for me and shows up fine on the keyboard visualizer
