IMovie for Mac OS X 10.6.8

Hello,

Following the "death" of my MacBook's hard drive, I purchased a replacement hard drive. However, the normally integrated software like Garage Band and iMovie have completely disappeared.
Since the computer was purchased through a group order, it's impossible to get my hands on the installation CD to recover the software...

How can I obtain a version of iMovie complete (not just an extension or an update as often found online) that is compatible with my operating system (Snow Leopard 10.6.8) and preferably free?

Thank you in advance!

Xila91

Configuration: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) / Firefox 35.0

    Hello,

How can I obtain a complete version of the iMovie software (not just an extension or an update like many found on the internet) compatible with my operating system (Snow Leopard 10.6.8) and if possible free?

If possible free?? Since these softwares are always provided in advance with each Mac, pre-installed and on DVD number 2, (and these DVDs must remain with the original Mac), but they have never been free, there is no legal free solution.

These softwares were previously ordered and delivered bundled on the iLife DVD, from the Apple Store website. Today, these softwares are sold individually on the App Store, via the App Store application present on all Macs starting from Mac OS X version 10.6.6

So if your Mac OS X version 10.6 is up to date (version 10.6.8), you have the App Store application that allows you to purchase these softwares.

    Best regards

I do have the App Store, but the version of iMovie currently for sale is not compatible with my operating system, which is too old...

Yes, I have the same problem: Apple Store does not offer older versions compatible with OS X 10.6.8...

Normally, at least in the last cases I've seen, the system offers an older version when you try to place an order and the App Store finds that the installed system version is too old.

Otherwise, I have known cases where people obtained the iLife '11 DVD (at a decent price too, compared to some scammers on the internet) by calling the Apple Store at 0800 046 046; it would be worth a try. Moreover, Apple would do well to bring this DVD back into circulation.
