Hello

I have comic books in .cbr format and I want to extract the JPG files from them. How can I do that, please? Is there a program for this?

P.S. Just a heads up, I can convert JPG files to .cbr files with WinRAR, but I can't do the reverse. I would like to have the procedure. Thank you.

    Hello,
the cbr is an archive format (Comic Book Rar).
It is based on rar (like cbz is based on zip).
Not only is it based on .rar, but a .cbr is a .rar; we've just indicated that it pertains to comic book files (essentially images) and allows dedicated readers to recognize them as such.

To decompress it, if your decompression software (like 7zip, for example) doesn't do it automatically, you can manually rename the file.
    moncomic.cbr will become moncomic.rar

For safety, it's always preferable when changing the file extension to keep a copy.
    To do this:
    copy the cbr archive
    rename one of the versions
    moncomic.cbr.old (if necessary)
rename the copy with the .rar extension instead of cbr.

The same procedure applies to cbz.

Gramarok, I had been scratching my head for half an hour with the add archive feature in WinRAR. Actually, I just had to rename the file to .rar. It was so silly that I almost feel bad for asking the question lol thanks.
