Hi, for a long time I've been asking if the RS-232 cable can help me connect my PC to my TV (my TV is not a plasma and it doesn't have an RS-232 output) but my receiver does.
My question is: can I connect my computer to my receiver to get my PC screen on my television?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE AND SORRY FOR MY FRENCH.

Ok
Your PC has an HDMI output, so you will need an HDMI/RCA adapter (around €10)
You will also need an RCA/Scart adapter (configurable as Input/Output). Ask the seller. You need to set it to Input. (around €5)
The red cable is for sound right, the white cable is for sound left, and the yellow cable is for video.
And there you go, you will be able to watch your PC on your old TV (with sound as well) ^^
Best regards

Hello,
You won't be able to connect your TV to your PC with a "serial" RS 232 cable...

Great!
Behind your PC, you have the ports that allow you to connect your machine to your monitor; can you tell us what the outputs are?
You can show us a photo if you're not sure :)
Best regards

Can you tell us the brand and model of your PC (it's written on the side or the back)?

to be clear:
if you have an RS-232 serial port behind your TV, it's for updating the firmware.
the RS-232 baud rate is limited to 115 kb, so you'll have a hard time transmitting images through this cable... or it will be slow!
