Hello everyone
I will explain my problem:
When I connect my TV, a Sony KDL-42W706B, to my PC via an HDMI cable, I get the error message "Unsupported signal, please adjust your PC output" when I select the HDMI channel.
I see my desktop image occupying 2/3 of the TV screen, the sound also works but there is still this error message.
I checked the Screen Resolution on my PC, I'm set to 1366x768, and when I switch to 1280x720 the TV screen is used at 100% but obviously the image quality is poor and it's not HD when I start a movie...
Does anyone have any idea what I could try to do, please?
Thanks in advance and have a good evening!

so the TV ratio is 16/9 and the resolution is 1920x1080.
I tried to force the display to a higher resolution, but it's impossible to find "Display1_DownScalingSupported" on my PC... but anyway, I've come to understand after my research that it would be impossible to go up to 1920x1080.
So I really don't know what to do, knowing that I have already connected an HDMI cable from my laptop to another 1080p TV and it worked normally.
However, when I play a movie with VLC to test it, the quality seems to be worse than when I play the same movie via a USB stick connected to the TV.
Is that possible or am I imagining things?
Thanks again.
Check the screen settings, maybe try an automatic HDMI adjustment to see if that fixes the problem, because if it doesn't happen on your other TV, then it's definitely the TV that's having an issue.
