Keyboard and mouse not working in BIOS

Hello,

I have a little issue. I recently changed my motherboard; it works very well, but the problem is that I cannot use the BIOS. When I press 'Delete' at startup to access the BIOS, it works, but once I’m in the BIOS, neither the mouse nor the keyboard works (though they are powered on). I installed the drivers provided (but honestly, I don't see how drivers installed in Windows folders could change anything when the problem arises even before the hard drive starts up). I tried a PS/2 mouse but without success, and I also tried changing the ports for my mouse and keyboard, but it’s still the same issue. I want to emphasize that both work perfectly on Windows and functioned well on the BIOS of my old motherboard.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Best regards.

The mouse and keyboard do not work in the BIOS; only the four arrow keys, enter, and certain function keys (generally F5, F7, F10) work.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but the BIOS of this motherboard supports mice, so in the BIOS, I have the cursor but can't move it. And don't worry about the keyboard, I've tested the arrow keys.

It seems that the BIOS is actually completely frozen since the temperatures are not changing. That would explain the problem. If anyone has a solution...

try resetting the BIOS either by removing the battery or by using the BIOS jumper.

Hi, have you tried connecting a PS2 keyboard? I had a default setting on my motherboard that didn't detect the USB ports at startup, so the solution was to plug in a PS2 keyboard (the green and purple ports at the top of your motherboard, usually) and change the setting.

Have a good day!

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately I don't have a PS/2 keyboard but I already tried a mouse and it didn't work.

Without buying a PS2 keyboard, there are adapters to connect a USB keyboard to the PS2 port (a few €).

I don't think it's coming from there because, as I told you, the BIOS is frozen and the mouse should at least work.
