Hello,

I noticed something amazing earlier, and I wanted an explanation.

I took a picture of my induction plates heating up. It shows red plates on the black material, which looks like this:

However, when I’m in camera mode with my phone, surprise, the red of these plates turns blue. The color is inverted! This resulted in:

I assure you that in real life, nothing is blue; it’s red when it heats up.

Any explanation?

    Hello,
This is not an induction hob, but a halogen or infrared ceramic cooktop. The one here:

is certainly made with false colors since an induction hob cannot produce heat or operate without the presence of a metallic object and especially one that is iron-based. An induction hob never turns red.

For your information, induction produces a wave as invisible as that of a microwave. However, a heated product emits infrared waves, which are also not visible to us, nor to most cameras. Digital sensors are equipped with infrared filters to avoid autofocus errors. This is not necessary on most smartphone sensors.

    Good evening,

the sensitivity of your phone to different wavelengths. A funny little test too, press a button on your remote and take a photo of the tip pointed towards the TV. With a "normal" camera, you can see the end of your remote. Take a photo under the same conditions with your phone and you will see the "light" emitted by the IR transmitter : )

    best regards
