red exclamation point icon on all files

Question

Hello,I have noticed that on all my files, whether they are: (.docx), (.xlsx), (.jpg), (.avi), (.mp4) ...... there is an icon "exclamation point in a red circle." I am using Vista Home Premium (SP2). I had McAfee but uninstalled it, and now I have Microsoft Security Essentials. Despite my research, I do not understand why this icon appeared out of nowhere and, most importantly, how to remove it.Could you help me? To answer your second question, I have no idea. I haven't done any particular manipulation. I will try what you suggest, but there are several options and I don't know which one to fix.

Repair what you can repair; if not, make a copy of one of your files and open it on another PC to see if that works; otherwise, a system restore may help.  Helmi Bouharb
