Unable to upload a .pdf on Gallica

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to you with a rather annoying problem that has been going on for a few months (and is driving my dad crazy).

If I go to the Gallica website and open any "book" document like this randomly chosen link: http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b53074556d?resetFilAriane=true&lang=FR the document displays perfectly, however when I click on "Download/Print" at the top right and choose the .pdf format it freezes, sometimes there's a "timeout" or an XML bug page appears, other times the site itself says that we can't access the document.

On the other hand, as soon as I use a VPN to access the site instead of my connection, there are no problems at all. Do you have any idea where this could be coming from and how to fix it, please?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

same on chrome.
Below you have 'send by email'. Try there

By trying continuously, you eventually succeed.
So the more it fails, the more chances you have that it works. (the Shadoks)
In addition to the thanks (yes yes, it’s done!!!), remember to mark as resolved. Thank you

No, but in 'send by email' it seems to be to receive the file by email.

Do you have a VPN installed?

No, no VPN.
In the top right, there's a link 'any questions?'
You can ask them.

So you drop them and buy from a competitor...

Hello, Gallica is free.

And it's always interesting to understand the cause.

The problem with everything that is free is that we can't complain; we have no right to protest or complain...
As for understanding the cause... we would need to come across some CCM members who have had the opportunity to use Gallica! And it seems that there aren't many of them!

Raymond, Gallica is the BNF's website that provides access to works that have entered the public domain as scans are made available. Its ambition is to scan everything, in order to compete with Google in this area.
It is a serious site, though there may be occasional issues.

Hello to you, Eric.

You reassured me about the reliability of the site offering these downloads.
So, I activated the link indicated by Savitri.
As usual, it is required to check the option "By checking this box, I acknowledge that I have read the terms of use and I accept them"; otherwise the download is not allowed to start!
That said, I also wasn't able to download a book, neither in saving nor in direct opening...
