Connect PC to Philips TV
Tv: philips 40pf4416k
Pc: Gigabyte g1 sniper m5
bios version F9
windows 8.1 (64)
Hello,
I am explaining my problem, I can't display my "windows" desktop on my TV. I have been researching for 2 days and still nothing.
In the meantime, I tested my HDMI cable on (xbox360 and my DVD player) and it works perfectly, so the cable is fine.
On Windows, I don't see my TV in the display settings, I have also installed all the drivers from Gigabyte and still nothing. I checked the BIOS and I don't see where I would need to enable my HDMI port at all.
Does anyone have any idea by any chance?

Hello
Screen transfer from PC to video projector or TV
Turn on the TV or projector; the video connection will be VGA, S-video, composite (RCA yellow), or HDMI, depending on the setup. Except for HDMI, you need to add an audio connection.
You can use an old TV with a SCART adapter to connect to S-video, composite, and audio inputs.
There are several ways:
Start with this simple method for recent PCs on Windows 7 and 8: press the "Windows" key + the "P" key and choose your option: "PC screen only, projector only" and duplicate, which is not relevant here.
Or another method:
On your PC, right-click on the desktop
Screen resolution
Click on "Show desktop only on 1" or "on 2"
Apply
The image will then be projected on the projection screen, and the computer screen will go black.
Click on the projection screen or TV by moving the mouse to "Keep changes"
Ok
Repeat the steps in reverse to recover the image on the computer.
Or turn off the projector; the image will automatically return (after a few seconds) to the PC monitor.
For audio, except for HDMI connections, you use the output from your PC sound card to power your TV or an amplifier.
You must align the display resolutions to match the maximum of the least performing of the two screens.
Or explained like this:
1. VGA and DVI ports
2. To open the Control Panel, click the Start button, then click Control Panel.
3. In the search box, type projector, then click on Connect to a projector.
(To use a keyboard shortcut instead of the Control Panel, press the Windows key + P).
4. Select how you want to display the desktop:
PC screen only (this displays your desktop only on your computer's screen);
Duplicate (this displays your desktop on both your computer's screen and a projector);
Extend (this extends your desktop from your computer's screen to a projector);
Projector only (this displays your desktop only on a projector).
For a TV screen, the same method applies.
