Convert ISO file to DMG

Question

Hello,

I want to convert an ISO file to DMG so that it can be detected by a Mac when it boots from my external hard drive. When I simply put the ISO on my HDD, the Mac is unable to boot from it.

My problem is that I can't start this Mac right now; I need to reinstall Mac OS X on it from a disk image. For this, I need my external HDD and my version of Mac OS X installed on it.

The best thing to do is to burn the ISO file onto a CD and launch it via the internal CD drive or an external CD drive. Indeed, most software converts a dmg. file to ISO but not the other way around.
