No sound while streaming!!! :(

I have the same issue: no sound when streaming, but I didn't really understand the suggested solution...

So I had the same problem and since I was helped here, it's my turn!

I should mention that this worked for me and that EVERYTHING that was suggested to me didn't work (lowering 'direct x sound' acceleration, a new key in the registry, reinstalling the sound card, and even reinstalling Windows).

Why no sound when streaming but sound in movies or other mp3s?

Because on the internet, generally, you're in 2.1 and on your computer in 5.1, so basically if you have a sound card that's at least 5.1 (most integrated sound cards nowadays), it uses your two front speakers (the 'front').

So here’s the basic solution, now I will talk about my specific case

First of all, before starting, you just need to do a test at the sound card software level, and if the two front speakers aren't producing sound... you can try what I suggest.

If you don't have at least a 5.1 sound card or if there's no problem with your front speakers, then my suggestion is not directed at you, sorry.

Once this state of affairs is established, I didn't quite understand why there was no sound coming from my two front speakers, two solutions: either there's an external connectivity problem, or there's an issue with my 'front' speakers

None of that, I even tested with other speakers on my front input and... no sound!

The solution? I have an ASUS A8N-SLI32 and a Tsunami case... and this motherboard (is it true for all ASUS motherboards?) has a zone called front panel audio. And that's it: if the connectors from my case are not connected to this zone... no sound in the front.

My machine must have taken a hit when moving it and several connectors had come loose... hence the fact that I had no sound in the front and therefore on the internet.

I admit this is probably a very particular case, but if I could help, that's great!

I had the same problem, no issue reading content on my hard drive but no sound while streaming. It's actually quite simple; following an initial viral outbreak on my PC, I blocked traffic on my PC with Sygate while I disinfected it thoroughly. My firewall (still Sygate) allows me to control the loading of DLLs, and as a precaution, I blocked everything during the disinfection process. The problem stemmed from that! I just needed to reset the loading of DLLs in the firewall settings, and the problem was solved.
