facebook messenger not available

Hello, I just moved to Reunion Island about 2 weeks ago. Wanting to check my private messages on Facebook, I noticed that I now need to download the Facebook Messenger app to access my messages. When I try to download it, I am redirected to the Play Store, but I cannot download the app and a message appears saying "this item is not available in your country." Yet my friend, who also just arrived from France, can download this app without any problems. Thank you for your responses, and I hope you can help me.

Hello,

one solution is to download the APK downloader from the Play Store, install it. Open the APK app, in the APK downloader search bar, type Facebook Messenger. Download the app and install it. You will probably need to give your phone permission to install a version not coming from the Play Store.
There you go, you should have Facebook Messenger!!

Your account may be set up in another country :) check that aspect, otherwise your friend may have downloaded it in France before arriving.

I just checked what you told me and no, it is well set up :$ and my friend downloaded it 2 days ago and we were no longer in France.
