Hi Noooam, the .aup format is generated by Audacity. More specifically, the .aup file contains all the recording settings (tracks, panning, volume, ...)
To this file example.aup is associated a file example_data that contains the recordings in .au format and should be in the same folder.
You need both for it to work. If you only have the .aup file, you won't be able to get any sound.
That said, if you have both the .aup and _data files with the same name, open the .aup file with Audacity, /File/Export/Mp3.
Lame must be installed for Audacity to export to mp3.
