Good evening, I apologize if I didn't post in the right forum. This morning, I made a mistake on my computer while trying to delete a user account and after restarting my computer, when I got to the login screen, the password was not recognized, making it impossible to access the desktop. I wanted to boot from a USB drive to restore the system (Windows 8.1) but I can't access the BIOS either because a password is required to gain access to the BIOS to change the boot order. That's my problem, and I hope to receive a response. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the response, but does it work on a Vaio laptop?

      if it's a laptop no...
      you can't remove the battery...
so once I saw hard reboot for laptops but honestly in this case I don't know.
I'll take a look if I can find the article I read.

Oh, I'm so silly lol, it's in the article I sent you that I read this:

On some models, to reset the BIOS, all you need to do is remove the battery and hold down the power button for more than 5 seconds.

I've never tried it on laptops, give it a shot, you never know if we need to see like restoring the factory settings, there should be a procedure.

Otherwise, while searching, I read this
If you have forgotten the BIOS password, contact VAIO-Link to
      reset it.

      Here
      https://community.sony.fr/t5/ordinateurs-et-accessoires/probleme-avec-mot-de-passe-du-bios/td-p/31882?nobounce=

See if you can do something about it.

Otherwise, know that if there is a procedure, it's in the manual.

If you want me to take a look in the manual, I need the model of the PC to download the manual.
If it's not in the manual, I’m afraid you don't have any other choice but to contact them.

User manual in French, the heaviest one, then go to page 87

If you forget the power-on password and need assistance to reset it, a reset fee will be charged.
Your computer may also need to be sent for repair to proceed with the password reset.

This is to ensure that you have the invoice, that the PC rightfully belongs to you.
It's for protection against theft and I'm afraid you have no other choice but to contact them....
