-Tu ne peu pas changer ton processeur par celui que tu as noté.
Ton processeur d'origine est un socket 775, il faut le même format (introuvable en neuf, voir sur eBay)
- Tu peu installer la carte graphique que tu as noté, mais elle est de piètre puissance, pas sur que sur des jeux même récent, elle soit vraiment un plus par rapport à ta 250GTS. Une GTX650 ti serait mieux (si tu es fan de nvidia)

tu peux mettre un quad core sur ta carte mère mais pas n'importe lequel car il faut que sa soit compatible, prend un core 2 quad d'occase par exemple.
pour ce qui est de la mémoire d'une carte graphique ce qui est important est ça rapidité et non sa taille des fois surélever sur des cartes bas de gamme.
La mémoire vidéo de la carte mère n'a rien à voir avec la mémoire vidéo dédié d'une carte graphique.

Les pc actuels sont tous en DDr3. Tu ne pourras pas réutiliser ta DDR2.
La plupart des sites de ventes de matériel d'info proposent des kits de mise à jour qui comporte essentiellement CPU/CM et Ram.
Cela permet de ne pas se poser de question pour la compatibilité des éléments entre eux.
Après c'est une question de budget.

non tu n'est pas obligé de changer de carte mère pour y mettre un Quad Core, mais ton choix se limitera aux Core 2 Quad Q6600 et Core 2 Quad Q6700
Concernant la mémoire, DDR3 obligatoire, les nouveaux processeurs n'acceptant plus la DDR2 (commerce... commerce...)
Si les moyens te font défaut ou sont limités, tu peux acheter tes composants en plusieurs fois, le plus cher sera le processeur... un Core i5 est compris entre 160€ et 210€. Pour un usage de jeux, même le modèle d'entrée suffit
Le choix de la carte mère sera plus délicat en fonction de ca que tu veux faire avec ton PC, de ce que tu voudras mettre comme processeur, carte graphique etc...
Si tu envisages de faire du multi-GPU, il te faut une carte capable de le gérer et la encore il faut savoir si tu veux un SLI ou du CrossFire, ça influe aussi sur le prix
Pour la carte graphique, la marque de la puce est une question de choix personnel, tu auras toujours les pros AMD, principalement pour le prix et les pros nVidia pour la performance... 3e choix possible tu peux ne pas mettre de carte graphique et te contenter d'utiliser le coeur graphique du processeur qui aura les fonctions d'un GPU de base... Performances correct oui, mais celle que je t'ai mis en lien est un poil au-dessus.

dans un autre post CCM (voir ici) a été traité d'un sujet voisin
Pour connaitre l'évolution possible d'un processeur, il faut connaitre principalement :
Le socket -> LGA775
Le Chipset de la carte mère -> Intel G31
si tu regarde les caractéristiques de ton chipset sur le site de Intel, tu verra, qu'il te permet de gérer un maximum de 4 GB en DDR2-667 (PC2-5300) / DDR2-800 (PC2-6400). Tu y trouveras également une liste de processeurs compatibles
Tu peux aussi regarder la compatibilité des processeurs au niveau de ta carte mère, pour cela le site du fabricant est très utile et pour la P5KPL/EPU tu la trouveras ICI
En se basant au descriptif du chipset sur le site Intel, Voici la liste de tous les processeurs compatibles avec ta carte mère en partant du plus puissant au moins puissant (je te fait grâce des moins puissants) :

Merci pour ta réponse très complète, je pense que changer pièce par pièce me coutera plus cher dans le temps donc je vais changer tout l'ensemble et prendre un peu plus de performance pour que ça me dure dans le temps! Je pense aussi qu'avec 300€ je dois pouvoir avoir une CM de milieu de gamme, un CPU qui correspond à un i5, une bonne CG et peut-être même 8Go de DDR3!

De rien, au moins tu fais le choix en connaissance de causes... et tant qu'à changer, en effet autant prendre plus puissant, changer un C2D pour un i3 ne fait pas assez de différences...
Penses aussi à évoluer du côté de la carte graphique, la GTS 250 est déjà assez ancienne....

non je ne rigole pas... malgré 5 années, mon Core 2 Quad Q9500 reste au même niveau de performances qu'un Core i3 actuel....
je n'ai pas ta fortune personnelle pour changer tous les 6 mois, et pour l'usage que j'en fait, ça me suffit, il supporte très bien la virtualisation, pourquoi changer pour plus cher et pas plus performant ?

Si tu parles pour toi ok, dans le cas d'un C2Q 9500 tu as raison, mais tu as bien marqué "C2D" et il a un E7500 à ce jour pas un quad. Moi je parle de ce qui est pas de ce qui pourrait etre sur son pc à lui.

Je sais qu'il me faut une PCI-e 16 Low profile, mais je voudrais savoir quelle carte graphique (la plus puissante possible) sera compatible avec mon système!
