Delete ProgramData

Question

Hello everyone,

Today, I decided to clean my 1TB Hard Drive because I only had about 400MB left. While searching through all my folders, I managed to free up around a hundred GB, great! But where do the other 900GB come from? So I activated the display of hidden folders and I see a folder named ProgramData, I right-click > Properties, and I realize that the size of this folder is huge: 698GB! :o So a good part of my 900GB occupied (the others are my games, Windows folder, a few photos...)

I would like to know what I can delete in this folder, because I believe that a lot of things in this folder are necessary for the proper functioning of the computer.

Definitely don't delete this folder, it's very important!!!

Instead, let's see what's wrong with a diagnosis!

Is there special software for diagnosis? Because I find that 700GB for a file is quite heavy.

* Download ZHPDiag (by Nicolas Coolman)

* Follow the installation prompts; it will launch automatically at the end.

* And don't forget to install its icon on your desktop; the icon looks like a parchment

* When the software opens, you will be offered two options: "search" and "configure"

* Click on configure

* Options then all

* Click on the icon that represents a magnifying glass + ("Launch diagnosis")

* Save the report on your Desktop using the icon that looks like a floppy disk

* To host the report, go to cjoint.com
* Click on choose a file and find the report on your PC.

* The report is hosted:
- For XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\ZHP
- Since Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ZHP

* Once you find the report, select it and click Open

* Choose the type of sharing (I recommend private for 4 days it will be deleted)

* Then click on create the cjoint link

* Once you have obtained the link, copy and paste it into your next reply

- Do not download any programs offered in advertisements or on suspicious websites. Note that some well-known sites like O1net, Softronic, Tuto4PC, etc. sometimes modify the programs offered for download to include adware ==> Always prefer downloading directly from the publisher's website.

- During the installation of a free program, read carefully and uncheck all additional programs that are offered, especially toolbars.

Check on the Windows Store if the SP1 is offered to you ;)  Update Flashplayer, Adobe Reader, and Java ;)  If there is a problem, there is always a solution Don't forget to mark your topic as resolved
