Hello,
I have upgraded my Vaoi VGN-BX296XP
I have two mice, the touchpad and the "button" in the middle of the keyboard.
The "button" in the middle of the keyboard is completely buggy; it moves the mouse even when I don't touch it.
A couple of years ago, I managed to reinstall the original drivers for the touchpad and was able to completely disable the "button."
However, I don't remember how to reinstall the driver :(
I was able to download the original driver pack from the VAOI website. There is no executable file in the "pointing" folder, just some dll and other files.
I copied the files to system32 and tried to run "regsvr xxx.dll," but it didn't work...
Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 26.0

Good evening,
You specify "I have done a refresh......." what operation did you perform?
Do you have the hidden partition on this PC?
Has the hard drive ever been formatted?
Best regards.

Good evening and thank you for the response,
Basically, I reformatted the drive and reinstalled Windows.
I can check tomorrow morning, but I don't think I still have the hidden partition.
However, I downloaded the driver pack from the Vaio website, I just don't understand how to install them.

Hello,
So I confirm, I no longer have the hidden partition. In the meantime, I tried to install the mouse driver from maconfig.com, but it didn't work.
Thank you

Good evening,
Indeed, there is no executable, you need to select the file to install after decompressing the zipped folders.
Your folder is named BX2_Drivers, you need to decompress it using 7Zip for example, which you can find HERE.
Right click on this file, select 7Zip then Extract files, a folder with the same name is suggested, confirm.
Right click on this new folder, open it, right click on drivers, open it, right click on pointing, open it, double click on Apoint to start the installation.
See you later!

Hello,
On my Dell Inspiron 1720 - so it's not a Sony Vaio! - running on Vista 32-bit, I can easily "play" with my Touchpad settings by clicking on Mouse in the Control Panel.
In principle, reinstalling your mouse driver should give you these options and the ability to disable your TouchPad.
Best regards
PS
1. What is the full name of your operating system?
2. Is it running on 64-bit or 32-bit?

I have the impression that you did not properly decompress the folder BX2_Drivers. Check your Downloads because it is through the decompressed file that you need to execute the installation (by clicking on the file presumably named Setup)
Before launching the installation, click on Read the Software License Agreement and click I Agree
