Hello everyone,
I received a letter from "Intrum Justicia" saying: "Please contact us urgently regarding a matter concerning you at 0 820 21 24 24 (non-premium rate number)."
There is nothing else. I don't even know what it’s about! If anyone has ever received a letter like this, could you help me understand what it is about and what I should do?
There are many forums discussing this, but there are so many that I don't know where to start!
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Don't worry, you're not in much danger. It's meant to scare people into calling back. You probably have an unpaid bill (Phone, Internet, Online Order...) and your creditor has hired an agency to recover the owed amounts.
As long as you don't receive a notice from a bailiff, you're not at great risk. And don't call back unless you intend to pay.
You can also call and ask for a payment plan if it's a large sum, but don't make a mountain out of it.

Thank you very much for your reply, it's nice of you. I hope it doesn't come to involving the bailiff, but I'll put the letter aside for now.
Thanks again, have a good evening!!
But don’t let it linger indefinitely, sooner or later it will come back up.
And don’t panic if you receive a lot, they do that to apply pressure.
Above all, do NOT pay anything, not even ONE €.. This could be interpreted as a 'recognition of debt' restarting any potential statute of limitations from scratch..
Wait to find out more.. You should receive the basis of the alleged debt.. Whether real, phantom, expired, or foreclosed.. Don’t rush even if everything is designed to scare the pigeon.. Moreover, there is often 'name similarity' and the guy doesn't bother checking seriously.. I experienced it myself, and as soon as a lawyer took over the case, these clowns crumbled softly (I didn’t have my current knowledge on the subject otherwise I would have done it myself..)..
When you know what it's about, come back to the Forum for advice.. Wait for a letter.. Ignore the phone calls..
Do you recall anything like a cancellation with a provider for example that would justify a Friendly Collection?
See you later
The origin of the problem has probably been identified.. Therefore, we need to tackle the source; I.J is only carrying out the Collection Mandate that has been entrusted to him..
You can ask the question about the EDF XXXL bill on the Consumer Forum where excellent electricity specialists like Energizor are working..
Provide as many details as possible: wall and window insulation, location, heating method, appliances, index, in short, everything that allows for realistic assessments
When is this bill from?
