Hello,

I'm working on an audit project where we need to study the IT network, and more specifically the telephone network of a company, but I haven't received much information about the infrastructure, and I noticed a France Telecom box of type ETCD MVMD. Does anyone have an idea of its usefulness? Thank you.

    Hi,
you can consider this as a modem.

      No, not at all,
it was for private connections, specialized lines, to an ISP or another site.
Nothing to do with the boxes.
It is installed when you rent a connection, and when it is terminated, it is almost never removed.
If there is nothing connected to it (usually a router), the connection is likely terminated.

A private link, that is to say? VoIP type, digital, analog, etc...?

      non-digital:
these are the termination equipment of a specialized line
then, it can go through VoIP if connected to an IPBX or a voice router.
