Hello, I have an M6 Mobile Orange plan at €9.99/month with 2 hours of calls and unlimited SMS/MMS. I would like to know how much time corresponds to 50 MB of internet.

Good evening,
  • 1 Email without attachment: 0.01 MB
  • 1 Email with attachments (Excel, Word, ...): 0.3 MB
  • 1 Email with photo: 1 MB
  • 1 hour of Chat - social network: 2 MB
  • 1 Web page displayed for a mobile-optimized site: 0.1 MB
  • 1 hour of surfing on mobile-optimized sites: 10 MB
  • 1 MP3 music track downloaded: 4 MB
  • 1 video of 10 minutes in MPEG4 downloaded: 80 MB
  • 3 minutes of Video streaming on YouTube: 15 MB
  • 10 minutes of audio streaming: 10 MB
  • 10 minutes of online gaming: 20 MB
  • 1 application downloaded or an update from the market: 2 MB
  • 1 day of data synchronization for a news feed application (Le Monde, ....): 1 MB
  • 1 day of synchronization of simple data streams: weather: 0.1 MB
  • 1 day of synchronization of calendar and address book: 0.2 MB
  • 1 hour of using navigation applications (related to GPS, for example): 20 MB

Total 50 MB, this will not be enough, use Wi-Fi at accessible hotspots for a large file

If we download apps over Wi-Fi, does it use data from the plan?

Good evening, in some countries the connection is throttled upon request from consumer associations and debts
When you exceeded, for example, 50 MB and went to 51 MB or more, you had to pay the surplus. Now operators are required to throttle the connection after 50 MB; you receive a message from the operator informing you that you have exceeded the loading limit and it will be restored next month.
MB or GB, it's always / month

If your smartphone has the WIFI option, don't hesitate to use it to save on your connection when you're in a public place or anywhere with accessible WIFI without needing to enter a code.

It all depends on what types of pages you visit because 50MB doesn't mean anything in time since 1 page with 2 images of 46KB + 8KB of text = 100KB, which is 0.1MB = 50 pages of 50KB visited. Your question might now be: what is the average weight of a page? Knowing that if you visit pages containing videos, it's important to be well-informed. I don't use the internet with my mobile phone, but it's important to know all this + the number of pages visited per month (if 50MB = 1 month).

But there isn’t really an average for internet pages on the net... It wouldn’t be representative at all, in my opinion.

Best regards,

Sorry to insist, but I would like to know how long 50 MB of internet lasts if:
1) I go on Facebook for about 1 hour?
2) I go on Facebook for about 1 hour and upload 2 or 3 photos?
3) I go on Facebook for about 1 hour and chat for 1 hour?
4) I go on Facebook for about 1 hour and chat for 1 hour?
I go on Facebook for about 1 hour and upload 2 or 3 photos?
5) I go on Wikipedia for 5 minutes?
I watch 5 videos of 5 minutes on YouTube?
6) I look at images on Google Images?
7) I do everything at the same time?

And how much data do I use in megabytes by doing what is indicated in the message I posted just before?

In essence, on Facebook, the weight of a page varies extraordinarily, making it impossible to predict exactly, or generally anywhere, "how long" 50 MB will last.
Chatting, if it is only written, does not weigh much.
On Google Image, your device not only loads the images you want but also all the other images. Therefore, on Google Image, there is more downloading than on Wikipedia (normally and in my opinion).

Best regards,
Alain2131.
