Disruption with my Philips GO GEAR 2 GB

Question

Hello everyone,

I have a GO GEAR PHILIPS GB with FM radio, since 2004. It had to be reset once by the after-sales service 2 months after purchase. Since then no problem, I have 485 tracks on it, with a bit of space left, but I haven’t saved anything! Today it won’t turn on; if I plug it into the mains the screen lights up slightly but nothing happens. It hasn’t received any impact, nothing at all. Since it doesn’t respond I tried to reset it but nothing happens. Could someone help me, and explain how to get it working again? I can’t afford to have the service center check it anymore.

I found the solution to the problem because I had the same issue too. Behind your GoGear player, at the bottom right there is a small "reset" button; you need to take a needle and press it to restart it. I did it and I thought I would lose all my music, but no. So try it and ask again if needed. goodbye everyone

I also have a GoGear, but I don’t have your problem. However, I believe that MP3/video players with Li-polymer or Li-ion batteries tend to have their battery deteriorating over time. Therefore, you need to buy a new battery if you want your player to work again.

When the screen flickers, you must press sleep-wake and connect to the PC at the same time.
do not release and launch your Phillips Device Manager and select repair.
It repairs everything (but also wipes everything)

the more I listen to songs, after a while every time I listen to songs they cut off in the middle and move to the next one or the screen locks until the battery is drained and it stays on and I can’t turn it on again!

Hello, I had the same problem as you, so I got fed up and I slammed it against the wall.

Now it doesn’t work anymore.

Then I took it apart, I rubbed the hard drive connector, I removed it and then I put everything back together after removing the ton of dust there was.

Now it works!! but I have the touch, so I don’t care ^^ (Mp3 easy to dismantle)

Shalum uh mwo I have a go gear as well and it works correctly I don't know if yours is also an mp4, because it was sent to me without installation CD which is why I can't get the videos I don't know if it's the different format but when you try they tell you the thing doesn't accept the format and blah blah blah uh I would like to know where I can download a Philips driver if you have one try to give me on msn we'll see a sharing folder: azizsylvain@yahoo.fr THANKS and good luck @++++++++++++

I have a problem with my Philips GoGear SA3124 2GB player: it wouldn’t turn on, so I put it in recovery mode. I opened Device Manager and started the repair, but at the end a window appears indicating that the firmware update failed. So I disconnect it and try to turn it on again to no avail. I reconnect it to restart the repair, which again ends with the same error message. What should I do, please help me please.

To put the videos you need the CD to convert your files into a smaller format. The software is called Philips Media Converter, and for problems I have the same, but I fix it with the Philips Device Manager software. It erases all your files, and you can restart it and put your file back. See you soon and good luck for your mp3 or mp4.

thank you kelvin for the info but the pirate (power) is stuck on now it won't turn on to tell you and on top of that it refuses to charge at the outlet the computer on the pc doesn't detect it anymore. before it refused to read sounds and videos but i listened to the radio. i miss too much the same problem for most cases highlighted.

To answer a million people on the net, for the problem "please connect player to pc," you need to restore the system files of your MP3 or MP4... so for that you must download "Philips Device Manager," available on the manufacturer site: https://www.philips.fr/ (There are several versions, so you need to search for the one for your MP3 by typing its name in the search bar). Don't forget to close Windows Media Player before starting the restoration, or even formatting.

Unfortunately some videos have multiple parts, but oh well.. So I went there, took the topic site, and there you go. Hello,  I’m going to play the originals with my problem: the 2 GB Go Gear I bought supports videos very poorly. I inserted a video, so far so good; I insert a second video different from the first, and when I disconnect it from the PC safely and go to the video folder, there are two copies of the second video I inserted. So I reconnect to the computer and the computer shows me that there are indeed two different videos. I insert a third video and there, I disconnect, etc., and when I try to play the videos I see two copies of the second video I inserted and one copy of the first but not the third. In short, I’m starting to go crazy and pull my hair out, so I calm down and look for a solution to my incongruent problem, a temporary solution is to load all the videos at once instead of one by one, but when I read all the problems it has, I tell myself that I shouldn’t have bought it.

i had the same problem with my mp3 go gear, it wouldn’t turn on and when I plugged it in to charge it didn’t charge... the only thing I had to do was press reset....
