Disruption with my Philips GO GEAR 2 GB

Hello everyone,

I have a GO GEAR PHILIPS GB with FM radio, since 2004. It had to be reset once by the after-sales service 2 months after purchase. Since then no problem, I have 485 tracks on it, with a bit of space left, but I haven’t saved anything! Today it won’t turn on; if I plug it into the mains the screen lights up slightly but nothing happens. It hasn’t received any impact, nothing at all. Since it doesn’t respond I tried to reset it but nothing happens. Could someone help me, and explain how to get it working again? I can’t afford to have the service center check it anymore.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

I found the solution to the problem because I had the same issue too. Behind your GoGear player, at the bottom right there is a small "reset" button; you need to take a needle and press it to restart it. I did it and I thought I would lose all my music, but no. So try it and ask again if needed. goodbye everyone

Hello, I had the same problem as you, so I got fed up and I slammed it against the wall.

    Now it doesn’t work anymore.

Then I took it apart, I rubbed the hard drive connector, I removed it and then I put everything back together after removing the ton of dust there was.

Now it works!! but I have the touch, so I don’t care ^^ (Mp3 easy to dismantle)

I don’t have the same problem as you ...
My PC doesn’t detect my Philips, saying that the driver isn’t good ...
So, could someone tell me which driver is needed for my MP4 to be detected ??

You just need to change the USB cable, I did the same and it works.

Hi, I just bought the Philips GoGear SA3125 2GB/GO FM MP4 and I haven’t had anything yet, but know that you can repair it via the internet I think, because mine I can do it, so here it is maybe read your user manual and the problems section; this is all I can tell you about it @++

I'm fed up with my MP4 player, I got it for my birthday, my dad paid for it 7 months ago and now I'm fed up, he makes no effort. It's taking too long to repair, and on top of that, they're incompetent.

When the screen flickers, you must press sleep-wake and connect to the PC at the same time.
do not release and launch your Phillips Device Manager and select repair.
It repairs everything (but also wipes everything)

Well, my problem is solved ...
But Audrey, maybe try to format it ...
If you really have a problem, go check in the shop where you bought it
(hoping for you that it’s still under warranty)

    Hello,
I also have a GoGear, but I don’t have your problem. However, I believe that MP3/video players with Li-polymer or Li-ion batteries tend to have their battery deteriorating over time. Therefore, you need to buy a new battery if you want your player to work again.

Normally how do you buy it, you could convert it, big Ben, you break it on your PC and on your MP3 or MP4, you go into Photos, you click big to send to Philip or the name of your MP3 and it’s okay, but the videos I don’t know, you need the software to download, this...

I have a problem too... But not the same as yours. In fact, it's my PC that won't detect my MP4 [player], saying I don't have the right driver, so could someone tell me which driver is needed for my MP4 to be detected?

I have a problem with my Philips GoGear SA3124 2GB player: it wouldn’t turn on, so I put it in recovery mode. I opened Device Manager and started the repair, but at the end a window appears indicating that the firmware update failed. So I disconnect it and try to turn it on again to no avail. I reconnect it to restart the repair, which again ends with the same error message. What should I do, please help me please.

Since I have the same problem with the same Philips 2G, I think that cheap hardware is a bit of rubbish! Let’s call it what it is. I won’t buy another one.
