Using the dropper tool in Photoshop

Question

Hello,

I'm unable to use the eyedropper tool in Photoshop. I'm following the instructions to the letter, selecting the layer, the shape of the pointer, etc. However, when I click on my photo, nothing happens.... Is there something I might be forgetting...? Thank you for your responses

Hello,  in addition to Nehel's advice, also check the size of the tool (right-click on the photo with the tool active), it may be that the diameter is not sufficient.

Yes, enlarge the tool if necessary
but the drop of water only blurs and the result depends on the image
for example, here, the blur is clearly visible:

and here, it is less visible even though the setting is the same (quite large diameter and intensity turned up all the way):

on the other hand, there comes a time when the tool is saturated, insisting doesn’t help
