Photoshop: Import multiple photos into the same frame

Hello,
As the title says, I urgently need help please because previously I used an older version of Photoshop and with that one, when I imported multiple photos, I had them all in the same window and the same frame, which allowed me to make edits more easily and drag one image onto another layer. However, now with CS5 and even CS6, when I import photos, they are all separated into distinct windows.

So my question is please, how can I make CS5 work like the old mode, meaning that as soon as I open Photoshop and import photos, I have everything in the same window? Thank you in advance.

    simple method:
    open your images folder and drag and drop the images to add
    they will be added on separate layers

      after opening your first image: file menu: import to add the following images

      open the images separately using the open command
      window menu: workspace: rearrange according to the number of images
      and with the move tool, drag the images from one workspace to another
