Connect condenser microphone with an XLR/Jack adapter.

Hello,
Having recently acquired a Komplete Audio 6 (a mixer that has 48V phantom power) and a Sennheiser condenser microphone (the e614), I have tried several times to record something but without success.
It was connected to input 1 via an XLR/Jack adapter.
Do I necessarily need an XLR/XLR cable for it to work?

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: iPhone / Safari 6.0

Hi Musicos, indeed, for the phantom power to supply the microphone, it must be connected with an XLR/XLR cable.
