Salut

or

Good evening everyone.

Got the same problem with the "McAfee Security Center Special Edition from AOL" (if you sign for a AOL email address you can download this suite that combines antivirus and firewall free of charge).

It seems that eMule and McAfee Email proxy service (emproxy.exe) do not get along very well. I use a machine that is exposed directly to the net loaded only with eMule (without any kind of mail programs - no outlook express, no outlook, absolutely nothin at all) and the problem only appears when i put emule to work. So i guess that my emule client must be using ports 25 and 110 to some kind of traffic or else, the other emule clients who are downloading from me, in order to avoid traffic shapping, are using those ports to enable emule traffic which of course their ISP's cannot block ).

Anyway: Thanks "ind57" for sharing the solution McAffee provide with the rest of us. It's working fine for me. The only problem is having to stop and start the service every time emproxy.exe goes avoc.

https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/cp/home/articleview?articleId=107120&lc=1033&partner=McAfee&type=TS&ia=1
