Connect camcorder DV plug to PC

Hello, I have an old JVC GR-DVL camcorder with mini tapes and I would like to transfer these tapes to DVD with a digital copy.
Unfortunately, this DV port is connected to a FireWire port of the IEEE 1394 type.
However, no PC has this IEEE input anymore.
I bought an external ExpressCard adapter (current PCs no longer have a slot to directly connect this type of card) and then an ExpressCard with 2 IEEE inputs.
But of course, it doesn't work... The camcorder is not recognized; anyway, nothing is recognized because the ExpressCard has a USB input and when I connect an external hard drive: nothing.
Does anyone have a simpler and more effective connection solution??
Thank you.

Hello, I made a presentation on this topic to check your IEEE 1394 card and a second presentation that you can also read
You will need a video editing software, of course, to transfer your files
Check the IEEE 1394 ports on your computer
Go to control panel then hardware and sound or system, and device manager, double click on IEEE 1394 host controller
Double click on compatible IEEE 1394 host controller okay
If there is a problem, click on driver and update the drivers

MiniDV tape transfer
To transfer mini DV tape to laptop or desktop PC, the laptop or desktop PC must have a firewire or ilink input (IEEE 1394 port), it’s the same thing, perform the transfer with editing software like Windows Live Movie Maker or iMovie (Mac) or commercial editing software; the computer recognizes the camcorder right away for capture
An internal IEEE 1394 (firewire ilink same) card is easily installed on a desktop PC
If it’s a laptop that doesn’t have this input, a second solution - check if the laptop has a slot on the side “express card” (pcmcia) slot protected by a false plastic card, there are firewire express card adapters:

Thank you for the response; in fact, my laptop does not have a slot for ExpressCard; that's why I bought an adapter that plugs into USB on my PC and receives an ExpressCard that I also bought, with FireWire ports.
The problem is that it does not work...
