Hello everyone,

Well, my question is quite "weird," I admit.

But there's something that's been bothering me.

You see at the bottom right on Facebook in the list of online friends, you have some contacts with a little gray text next to their name that says "3m or 1h" in small.

We agree that it indicates the time of the person's last connection, right?

I'm telling you this because I have a friend who goes to bed at 11:00 PM every night, I know her well.

And the thing is that for this girl, for example, it currently says she was online "2m" (2 minutes!).

Yet it’s 4:00 AM and she should be sleeping, but she tells me otherwise.

How can you explain that?

Are there updates happening on her mini iPad?

Why is it that with others, it doesn't happen like that?

Like I have a friend who was online "3h" and when I ask him if he was actually online 3 hours ago, he says yes, of course.

It's strange.

Yes, it could be due to updates or something else she didn’t disconnect from her tablet.

As for your friend, I think she has the right to go to bed whenever she wants, and it’s strange to ask a friend if they went to bed at 3 in the morning...

People have the right to log in on Facebook at whatever time they want without having to account for it.

I really find it unhealthy to add the time of the last connection as well as the “seen” in messages. People are free to act as they wish.

So I think you should sleep and take care of your own connections, not those of others.

This time corresponds to the last new message "seen" by your contact, regardless of who sent them the message.

For example: 45 min = the last new message "seen" by my contact dates back 45 min

That's why by disabling notifications, this "timing" disappears.

Attention: one caveat, however, the disabling of notifications can only be done for a maximum duration of 8 hours.

I have proof twice today that you can be online even though we've been sleeping for ages.

All it takes is to receive a notification or a message or something, and it activates the Facebook app
even when you're not necessarily using it.

You just need to have your Facebook page open.

And otherwise, it's impossible to remove the online time
for that you must not use the Facebook and Messenger apps.
