Système arrêté

Question

Hello,

My old PC has crashed. It's a DELL
In the morning it was working fine with a wired keyboard and mouse.
In the afternoon, we plugged in the wireless keyboard and mouse and BAM, nothing.
Here’s the message on the screen:

Dell system precision workstation 670 series
Bios version A02
Error! Memory configured incorrectly
Please enter setup for memory details
Drive 1 not found: srial ATA, SATA-1
Strike the F1 to continue, F2 to run the setup

And when I press F1 it shows: SYSTEM HALTED
And when I press F2 I do get the setup, but I don't know anything about it.

I just want to know if my PC is dead or if it’s something else.

Hello....

In the BIOS, you have the option to set the settings to "default"... do it, validate your choice and exit the BIOS... everything is indicated...

Thank you for your response, I am in the setup, maintenance, load default. I have "continue" and "save/exit" and I have the following message:
1Jbod device found
Bios installed successfully
Strike .........
System halted !
What now?

You need to choose save and exit, but I have to admit I've never seen "system halted" before...
If it's a tower, you should remove the BIOS battery for a few minutes... obviously with the machine turned off and unplugged...
Check in the BIOS, and in boot if it's really the hard drive that's first... if not, set it to the top line.

Thank you, I just removed the battery. There was a message saying that a problem was detected and Windows was shut down to prevent any damage to your computer... I restarted and the message comes back and says that I need to check for viruses, remove all newly installed hard drives (there are none), and verify that the hard drive is properly configured and installed.
And now it gets complicated: run CHKDSK/F to check for damage on the disk and then restart.
Technical information:
stop: 0x0000007B ..........blablabla

What should I do now?

I specify that I turned it off, removed the battery, waited, turned it back on, got a message, restarted it, and after that the message described above.

If you ignore chkdisk, does it start or not?

Try to start in safe mode by tapping F5 or F8... as soon as you turn it on....

I just restarted in F5 and "start Windows normally" and the result is a blue screen and the same message  :-(

In the list, it should offer you chkdisk... otherwise, choose "command prompt, then look here:

But nothing works, no matter how hard I try to restart in every possible way, safe mode, command prompt, etc., I always end up back at my blue screen with the CHKDSK/F alert.
I’m afraid there might not be a solution

For the chkdisk, you need to add C:
chkdisk c: /F

So you never have the cursor in the top left by itself?
Since it follows the installation of wireless keyboard and mouse, I assume you have removed them, BUT if you don’t reconnect the keyboard with the PS/2, the ones with the round plug often purple, it can cause this kind of problem...
Otherwise, just remove your hard drive entirely, it should boot to the BIOS and tell you there’s no HDD... then turn it off, put the HDD back and start again...
Do you have the installation CD of your OS (XP, Vista...)?
If so, you can set the CD drive as the first boot option, insert your CD and confirm, it will boot from the CD, then we can see....
