Cannot merge cells

Hello,

I am unable to merge cells as I used to. The "merge cells" option is greyed out and inactive. What should I do; my cells are not protected.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 9.0

Hello,
Is the file shared? If so, you need to disable the sharing option between users.
Go to Review > Share Workbook and uncheck the option.
