Hello,
I recently received a DVI to HDMI adapter to use my TV as a monitor
I have made the connections but I am encountering a problem: my PC does not detect the TV
The TV detects the cable, I have restarted several times without success, and I have also tried unplugging the VGA cable.
I should mention that the cable is not detected either in the Windows settings or in the Nvidia settings
My configuration is: CPU Intel Core 2 Duo
Nvidia GeForce 8600 GS graphics card
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 24.0.1312.56

Alright, change the resolution to 1024 x 768, unplug your Asus, and plug in the DVI for the TV, then on the TV select the HDMI port and wait a little while.

Hello, I think it would be better to take a DVI to VGA cable, I assume the TV has a VGA port?
That said, you need to manually select your TV on the HDMI, I don't think it automatically detects the PC as a device like a home theater, box, or console.

Oh okay, no VGA then?
So, is this the kind of cable you have?

You probably need to adjust the resolution; I seem to recall having that issue when I connected my TV to my PC via VGA, but I think you need to do the same thing with DVI.

Not really, I have an Asus monitor connected with a VGA port
My TV is connected with an HDMI cable that is plugged into an HDMI to VGA adapter like this one: <code>http://www.generation-gpu.fr/UserImgs/imgs/Articles-/HD/3545p.jpg -
Ok, I saw the GPU, a VGA port and a DVI port, that means you have 2 displays connected to the GPU, but I don't know if it supports both displays at the same time, have you unplugged the Asus screen to see if the image appeared on the TV?

Have you changed the resolution to see if the image appeared, still without the Asus screen?

It is currently 1440x900
Should I lower it?
Just for clarity, my TV is a Samsung Series 4 HD -
Yeah, just wait, there will be a time when the image will appear, I think that's all it is.

It still doesn't work, I've tried up to 1280x800
I've changed the display resolution of the ASUS VW193D since Windows doesn't detect another screen. -

If you know, go down to 1024 x 768, I think with that you should get results.

I try at 1024x768 no result
But just one question.
Should I change the resolution, unplug AND restart or just change the resolution and unplug? -
If I remember correctly, apply the resolution, unplug and plug back in, it seems to me, I'm not quite sure anymore.
