Firefox is already running but not responding

Hello,
Here is my issue with Firefox, and I don't think I'm the only one. When I try to open my browser, I get the message "Firefox is already running but not responding."
I have already followed all the solutions proposed through Mozilla's support for this problem, which seems to be known but keeps recurring. I also notice that I've had this problem since the update to version 18.0.
Has anyone found a solution?

Restart your computer. After the restart, do not try to start Firefox.
Go to the Firefox profile folder:
Click on the Windows Start button and type %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ in the search field at the bottom of the Start menu, without pressing the Enter key. A list of profiles will appear at the top of the Start menu.
Click on the profile with "Default User" in the name to open it.
Delete the parent.lock file.
Look at what we’ve done to the world, look at what we're leaving to our kids.
