Game installation issue

Question

Hello everyone,

I was lent the game 'Trainer 01-02' on PC, a not very recent game,
I tried to install it, and once the installation was finished, a small message appeared asking if I had Service Pack 3 on my system, because Trainer 01-02 requires Direct X.

Then when I launch the game, I click on new game, a message appears:
'The system does not have enough memory to create the game, please free up memory and try again'

I then downloaded the latest version of Direct X (9.0), downloaded 'Windows XP Service Pack 2',
I have more than 15GB free on my hard drive; but I still can't start the game,

Could you please help me, I really can't find a solution..
That would be really cool! :(

Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 1.5.0.9

Good evening,

I just checked the forum on jeuxvideo.com regarding this issue, and I may have found a solution:

"THE SOLUTION:
Go to control panel > system > advanced > performance settings > advanced > edit in virtual memory. Then enter the following values (this is what I used): in initial value (MB) 512, in maximum size 1024, click on set and finally on OK."

I had been facing this problem for a long time and it has indeed solved my issue and CM 01 02 can now run on XP. I entered the same virtual memory values on my partition where the games are located as those indicated for my boot drive and it works perfectly.

Good evening everyone,

I am bringing this topic back because I am encountering another problem during the trainer installation.
It keeps showing me the same message asking if I have Service Pack 3 on my system, because Trainer 01-02 requires Direct X.
My PC already has Direct X (9.0), so up to now nothing unusual, except that when I try to launch the game, I get this error message

A box appears asking me if I want to send the error report to Microsoft or not send it
I don't understand why because I had previously installed this game quite some time ago and I never encountered such a problem.
I hope I have been clear enough and I will let the IT pros try to sort this out as best they can!!

I'm having a problem with the game Championship Manager 2001/2002; I can't launch it, maybe you can help me. I've tried on two different PCs with Windows XP and the problem is still there:

I can't start the game.
The installation keeps restarting endlessly. The installation seems to go fine until a message offering to create a shortcut on the desktop, followed by a panel indicating that the installation is finished and where you can check the boxes to read the README file and install DirectX.
After checking both options, I click finish and I get a message
"Make sure you have installed Service Pack 3" on your computer because Championship Manager 01/02 requires DirectX".
From then on, when I try to launch the game, I get a message saying that CM 01/02 has encountered a problem and needs to close. (the messages with the option to send an error report to Microsoft).

Can you tell me what "Service Pack 3" is?

Hello everyone!

I see there are still die-hard fans of the legendary game that is L'Entraîneur 2001/2002.... I must admit that I'm one of them too, which is why I decided to reinstall it on my brand new PC!

But here lies a problem that is pretty much the same as the one you are facing: namely, when I launch the game, an error message appears.... Anyway, I'm not here to help you because I haven't found a solution yet, but I'm thinking about it.

Perhaps the game doesn't support DirectX 9.0 because before I had an old PC with an old DirectX, and the game worked just fine, so maybe that's where the issue lies...???

I hope to find an answer or that someone can enlighten us on the topic as soon as possible!!!!!

I reinstalled the same game on a different computer, still with Vista, and the same problem occurs; I can play half a season and then it freezes. Can you help me? Thank you.

Hi. Well, this is quite a difficult problem since it goes back to a game called Total Annihilation, a very old game.
When I install the game, I have to choose the local disk. For now, everything is fine. But once I click OK after setting the directory to C:\CAVEDOG\TOTALA, it gives me: memory problem, do you really want to install it? So I went ahead and installed it. I create a game, and during the game loading, the game tells me OUT of memory! Your hard disk may be full. Basically, my hard drive is full even though I have at least 300 GB free. ^^ Please help me even if the game isn't worth it.

I'm sick too. Indeed, I've had this devilish game since its release. Even though I have a more recent version, I'm still playing Championship Manager 3 Season 1999/00. Sick, I tell you.
The recurring problem I've encountered is mainly when loading a game (insufficient free space), here are some tricks that have sometimes worked:
- save the file of the games to keep then uninstall/reinstall the software (simple but it can do the trick)
- copy the CD to your hard drive, then install from that location
- in the case of an installation on a different disk than the one containing Windows, you can install CM on the disk containing Windows, load it once, then copy/paste the new installation onto the other disk (you'll need to correct the access path for launching, tactics, and research). Or you could copy Windows to the other disk and reinstall CM.

There you go, it's all just tinkering but for now, I'm playing it (2022/23 season with Evry in the Champions League!).

I also remember CM 97/98 with JPP at Bordeaux (nostalgia...)

I have cleaned the PCs of two friends who have this game on Vista! Since then, the Championship Manager 01/02 game is running really slowly, and I can't find a solution!

PC cleaning means:
- deleting temporary files
- antivirus scan with Avast
- scanning MSN files
- cleaning with CCleaner

That's what has been done

Even if we reinstall the game, it continues to lag!!!
