Check if the NX function is available on the processor

Hello,

I'm considering upgrading to Windows 8. The offer at €30 is very tempting and I must admit I'm really getting fed up with the slowness of Vista. So, I've downloaded the Windows 8 compatibility assistant. The assistant told me that NX was not supported or not enabled on my processor. How can I tell if my processor has this feature?

I searched online to find out if my processor has this feature. On a forum, they suggested using ma-config.com to know the configuration of my PC. So I followed this advice. I found the name of my processor, which is as follows:
Intel Pentium T2080 running at 1.73 GHz
Then I looked to see if I could find the specifications of my processor. I found them on Intel's website: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/29740/intel-pentium-processor-t2080-1m-cache-1-73-ghz-533-mhz-fsb.html

There is no mention of the NX feature. However, while searching online, I found that Intel refers to this feature as Execute Disable on its processors. However, on Intel's site, it states that my processor has the Execute Disable Bit feature. Does this mean that I have the NX feature necessary for Windows 8?

I hope I was clear enough in my explanations. Thank you in advance for your responses.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 18.0

Yes, NX is required for Windows 8 ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows?ui=en-US&rs=en-001&ad=US )

In principle, all processors since 2004 have the NX bit. However, it may not be enabled; you need to go into the BIOS to activate it.
