Charvet Schneider TV without remote control

Hello,
I was given an old TV to connect my daughter's PlayStation and I don't know how to make it work. I bought a universal remote but can't access the automatic channel search. So, I can't get any channels or have the AV function to use the PlayStation. I'm starting to wonder if this is possible on this TV... It has 8 channels and has a SCART socket. There is no particular model reference or serial number, it just says Charvet Schneider. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

In the vast majority of cases, the "secret" is simply the Menu button which allows access to the home page.

Then it's generally quite simple.
The 4 directional arrows to navigate through a page.
Menu or OK button, it depends on the TV, to access the next page, not forgetting to memorize, if necessary, beforehand.
This is generally what you encounter, but if it doesn't work like that, you have to fumble to find the right button.

A little difficulty you might encounter. In the early days of TVs with remote controls, there was no automatic scanning. You would then have to manually tune each channel.

If the Menu button doesn't do anything, try the Set button.

Hello,

To set up a universal remote control, you must first enter the code corresponding to the device you want to control.
If you do not know the code, there is a search method explained in the manual. To ensure that the first code found might be correct, the TV must at least respond to the power on/off commands. Be careful, sometimes the power on is achieved by pressing any number key.

You wrote unable to access the automatic channel search, which suggests that you have succeeded in this step.
Is that correct?

Only then can you attempt to access the channel settings. And at that point, it doesn’t depend much on the remote control, but rather on what is programmed in the TV.

Tell me what you have done, where you stand, and let me know the brand and model of your remote so we can see what can be done.

See you!

Hello, it’s very kind of you to have contacted me.

Indeed, I managed to change the channels and get the power button and sound working with my two universal remotes.
Here are the references for my two remotes:

The first one I bought is from Lidl, ref: URC-L-639 "supportPlus" 8 in 1. This one is LCD.

The second one: Ruwido 6 in 1, it is digital.

Actually, I paid much more for the second one than for the first, which seems much better to me.

Indeed, I had inferred from what you told me in your message: for channel searching, it all depends on the TV’s internal programming, the key is to crack the secret lol.

Thank you for your help,
Have a nice day and see you soon,

Nina

Good day,

This remote control, which is mainly sold by Aldi, does not seem to be available in France.

You will find here the manual for the l-1870 http://ww25.supportplus.fr/manuelsutilisateur/manuel_spurcl1870.pdf?subid1=20201204-2244-2321-8abd-9240b6f868de of the same brand (Supportplus), with the same functions (8 in 1, learning).
It is probably the same for the 2 remotes.

Best regards

Hello, I read everything that’s written above and I can't either. I had a remote control for the TV (Schneider) that I lost. I had to press two buttons simultaneously to set up the channels. Now I bought a universal remote control, Medion.
Everything works (channels, volume, turning on and off) but I still can't configure the channels, so I tried several combinations of two buttons at the same time and it still doesn’t work (neither does the menu). Thank you for responding if you know the solution. Kisses.

Ask the question to MEDION pc-support-fr@medion.fr

I believe it’s the only way to get out of this. They are quite responsive.

Hi,

I have a Schneider TV and I no longer have the original remote. I bought a universal one: URC L 639 and I'm unable to program channel 2. Can you help me or tell me the combination to find the channel?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Searching for channels is not a matter of remote control, but of the television. It is in the television that the Menu program is found, which allows you to make adjustments to the channels. The remote control only executes the actions contained in this program.

Your TV must not be very new because from what you say it does not have an automatic channel search system.

Go here http://www.csa.fr/infos/operateurs/operateurs_television_sites.php. By using Advanced Search, you will find out the channel on which France 2 broadcasts in your area.

Hello,

No question of Rollmaster or Daewoo in this discussion.
So why post here?

You'd be better off going to a discussion like this one http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich 558857 pb avec ma telecommande tv universelle

Hello,

I have a Samsung TF-20C5 television and recently I broke my remote control. Can you guide me, through the television, on how to switch to "AV"?

However, I am trying to set up a Universal 8 in 1 remote control but without success. Do you have any tips? $

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

There are dozens of 8-in-1 remote controls. So, without knowing the brand and model of yours, I can't give you any advice on how to make it work. Even knowing them doesn't guarantee success.

For AV: you should normally have a rudimentary keyboard on the front or the side of your TV, sometimes hidden by a cover. The buttons on this small keyboard allow you to "channel up" and "channel down" among other things. By going below program 1, you sometimes reach AV, but not always.
The buttons in question are sometimes marked Prog + / Prog - (or Ch + / Ch -), or sometimes simply + / - because by toggling a switch, they also function for sound. You have to fumble around to understand how it works ...

Even when feeling my way, I can't get anywhere. Is there a specific frequency for "AV" mode? I feel like I've already tried everything.
It must be impossible to activate it this way on this television.

It must be impossible to activate it this way on this television.

If you managed to find the trick to "scroll down" the channels and that trying to scroll below 1 doesn't yield anything, there indeed may not be a solution.

I can't get my PlayStation to work because I can't switch to the AV channel with my remote (a Philips universal). How can I solve the problem?
Thank you

Hello,

Go to http://www.urc.philips.com/
There are explanations for programming a button for a missing function.

It's not very easy. If you can't do it, please provide the model of your remote and the code used for your TV.
With that, I should be able to explain to you in detail how to proceed.
