Hello,
I bought a new color laser printer all-in-one; on the first startup, it asks to install the imaging unit. What is this "imaging unit"? Thank you
Ed
Configuration: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) / Firefox 16.0

Hello everyone, congratulations on your efforts and a big shout-out to abouclet who, in his message from March 28, 2016, revealed the super simple solution!
New to this forum, I had to change my imaging unit for the second time since I bought my CLX 3300 in 2012: printer stuck and solid red light on with a message asking for drum replacement. What really frustrated me was the fact that the print quality was impeccable!
When you lower the front cover, as if to replace a toner cartridge, you can see to the left of the imaging unit the two red copper terminals, and just in front of these two terminals, on the drop-down cover, there are 2 cylindrical metal nipples mounted on springs.
Inspired by abouclet, I simply short-circuited these two terminals with a thin strand of copper wire extracted from a piece of electrical wire, which I twisted around the 2 nipples and closed the cover.
The beast started to go through reset cycles, which I let run for about 3-4 minutes. I then opened the cover, removed the short-circuit, closed the cover, turned off and restarted the printer and... BINGO!! The light switched to green, the message disappeared, and it is back for 20,000 as confirmed by my print of remaining life times (maintenance section).
Cost of the operation: 0 euros, no more resistor to change, no so-called chip for 20 € or resistor to order!!!
Let those who succeed with this very simple trick make sure to share it here.
P.S. I still took the precaution, at the start and above all, after removing the cartridges, the used toner recovery tray, and the imaging unit, to give a gentle vacuum to the bottom of the machine, and I can tell you it was greatly needed...

Congratulations on the confirmed success. I have the feeling that this manipulation must apply to quite a few different types of Samsung laser printers. Let's wait for confirmations from colleagues...!
I have a CLX-3305W and it's asking me to replace the imaging unit!!!
I've tried the Mitrail procedure several times, but it doesn't work!!!
Is there another solution or do I really have to change this unit?
Jean-Marie
Thank you.
HELLO
Thank you very much for the procedure because I tried “menu” back “1”9”3”4” stop”, it never worked.
By doing your procedure, despite my doubts, it worked perfectly and I no longer have any messages.
I would like to remind those who would like to do this procedure that I own a CLX 3305 FW. Thanks a thousand times again
Best regards
