Excel problem to calculate x based on y

Hello,
I would like to create an Excel chart "line with markers." I entered the x data in column A and the y data in column B. The problem is that when I insert the chart, 2 curves appear, the x curve and the y curve, while I want x as a function of y. I really don't understand how to do it.
I should mention that this is one of the first times I've used Excel.

Thanks in advance!

George

Configuration: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) / Safari 5.1.7

    Hello

    1. use the scatter plot type instead of the line type (which does not scale the horizontal axis with a "real scale")
    2. right-click on your chart/Data source/Series
and assign the correct ranges to X Values and Y Values

    good continuation

      Hello,
Thank you for your response, but on my Mac I can't find anywhere the scatter plot... I go to chart, then to curves, but there is no scatter plot. Only curves, stacked curves, 100%, with markers (stacked and 100%), 3D but that's it. Where should I go?
