FORMAT External Hard Drive WBFS Solved

Question

Hello, I would like to format my EXTERNAL 2.5 SATA HDD (640 GB) to WBFS. Currently, it is in RAW format and I cannot format it using various software. When I try to format it to NTFS, it's impossible, it takes too long...  Thank you for suggesting a solution to resolve the issue.   Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 22.0.1229.94  Sincerely, Sdhc

try it with Wii Backup Manager, that's how I did it and it works very well!

« Il n'est pas possible de charger nativement une partition WBFS dans un environnement O.S. » (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WBFS). C'est possible, mais en passant par un logiciel pour l'écriture et la lecture (pas pratique donc...). Formater un disque n'est pas très long normalement : il suffit de faire un clic droit sur le disque, formater et lancer le formatage. Pense bien à faire un formatage rapide en NTFS (le bouton est coché par défaut je crois). Inutile de faire un formatage lent.

Hello   Uh, it's just an idea, but have you thought about shooting the raw partition before making a new one???  At step 1... http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2012/43/1350937781-1.jpg  You right-click, then delete, then right-click again and create...  After that, what's the point of formatting in wbfs??? Is it for a Wii??? At my place, it's in ntfs with a wbfs folder ^^ (wii backup manager)

I just saw that it was possible with an NTFS hard drive but the problem is that I can't FORMAT it to NTFS otherwise for Shooter the partition is RAW what is the procedure because it shows me an error thank you :)  -- Best regards Sdhc

change the USB port... or change PCs just to shoot the partition...  what’s the error???  When it shows up in raw, it means there’s a little issue ^^ the disk was removed abruptly, or it fell, or??? we need to be able to test the hard drive in another enclosure or directly on the PC...

I have already tried changing the PC/USB port.  Can you please indicate the necessary steps to shoot the partition?  Otherwise, the case is new and has never been removed "roughly." -- Sincerely, Sdhc

Well, I gave it to you above...  Right-click on the computer, then manage... Left panel > disk management... Right-click on the disk or the desired partition and delete...  If it doesn't delete, that's not normal, but you already knew that, right??? No???  Afterward, you can try some live Linux versions... I would recommend GPARTED... you need a blank CD :( Here's a tutorial, it will help you get into it ^^ https://linux-pas-a-pas.org  Don't follow the tutorial blindly, start at "Here we will use Gparted Live CD" go to the part where it looks like Windows, make sure to choose your external hard drive, click on the raw partition then delete... and restart..  If it doesn't work, it means your disk has a big problem!!
