Black screen when I'm online

Question

Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion 7 etc... that I've had for 4 years, and it's starting to give up (fan, dead battery). So I use it for watching videos (VLC) and for the internet.
For a few days now, when I go online via Wi-Fi, the screen goes black but stays lit like some sort of standby mode, except I can't get out of it. I can still hear sounds.
I've cleaned it with CCleaner and Kaspersky didn't find any viruses.
Has anyone experienced this problem? How can I resolve it?

Good evening, I'm not sure but it's probably the inverter that is malfunctioning. The inverter is a part that provides the image to the panel (screen)

Thank you for your response, but in that case, why is it systematic with the internet? I also specify that it only happened to me once with vlc, but otherwise it works well, and it happened another time in Windows Explorer. With the internet (Firefox or Explorer), it's systematic after a few seconds on Wi-Fi or with the cable. Honestly, I'm overwhelmed!

try Linux, in "live CD" mode (no installation required), or by installing it on your hard drive. To see if it's your operating system that is at fault or your hardware.

Thank you for your responses, I was thinking of reformatting but I will test the live CD. I will keep you updated on the result.

Hi, I tested with a live CD of Ubuntu and it works perfectly. So it's my system that's failing! (Windows 7).
In your opinion, is formatting necessary? If not, what solutions should I look for?
