Hello,

I just realized that my CD/DVD drive no longer appears in My Computer;

I have exhausted all the solutions that came to mind and am turning to you for help.

In Device Manager, I have an exclamation mark next to the icon that remains after uninstalling and reactivating. I can’t find anywhere how to fix this.

Microsoft HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT34N
The installed driver is not functioning properly: this is the result of the myconfig analysis.

Thank you in advance!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 21.0.1180.83

    Hi,

    try this:

    save this file to your desktop

    http://docxp.mvps.org/b1n/DisparitionCD.inf

    then go back to the desktop, right-click on the file, and from the list that appears select "install" and restart your PC as is.

      Or else, right-click on Computer, then Properties, Device Manager, find your DVD drive in the DVD/CD-ROM drives section, you should see your DVD drive along with possibly other virtual drives if you have a virtual disk utility like Daemon Tools.
      Anyway, right-click on your drive and you should be able to activate it.

    Thank you very much!

    Problem solved!

    Being naturally curious, may I ask where the problem came from? And what fixed it?

    Thank you and have a great day.
