Prevent sleep mode for certain programs

Hello,
as its name suggests (or almost ^^), I would like to prevent my Windows 7 from putting my screen to sleep when certain programs are running. Let me explain: I output the image and sound from my PC to my TV via HDMI and play music on the Windows Media classic player, but after 5 minutes of inactivity, the PC (or rather the TV) puts the monitor to sleep, and I lose sound! I do not wish to disable this monitor sleep or postpone it; I just want to make my computer understand "when this program is running, do not turn off."
Any ideas?
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 14.0.1

You can use the powercfg tool to temporarily prevent sleep:
